ANZAC Day with the Hawthorn RSL
ANZAC Day falls each year on 25 April, Australia's national day of remembrance of all those who served, suffered, and died in war, military conflict, and peacekeeping missions. The name and date of the day derive originate from the memorial anniversary of the 19156 arrival of the ANZACs (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps) at Gallipoli in 1915 in the First World War. ANZAC Day is now observed to honour the lives and efforts of all service men and women.
For ANZAC Day, the Hawthorn RSL Sub Branch will be holding a Dawn Service commencing at 6:00AM (arrival at 5:45am) tomorrow at the St James Park War Memorial, Hawthorn. The service will be followed by a gun Fire Breakfast at the Hawthorn Bowling Club.
All veterans and friends are also invited to join the RSL for a midday BBQ open from 10:00AM at the Hawthorn RSL, 605 Glenferrie Road. For more information, you can contact the RSL at president@hawthornrsl.com or on 0427 797 486.
Lest we forget.
