New President of Hawthorn Community Chest
Hawthorn Community Chest (HCC) is a group of local residents and business people who work together in helping those within our community who are in need.
The committee and volunteers help raise money and identify those who may need assistance in the community. A local and independent registered charity, the Community Chest gets no funding from the council or government so rely on the support of local businesses, schools and others within the community.
At the HCC's Annual General Meeting on 9 August 2018, Sarah Curtis, President of HCC for the past two years, stepped down and Andrew Tait, committee member for 9 years and previously serving as Vice-Presidnet and Treasurer, was elected as new President.
The committee now includes 14 committed volunteers from a range of backgrounds.
