Hawthorn Makers Market Comeback
The Hawthorn Craft Market will return to the heart of Glenferrie in April 2018, after leaving the area more than four years ago.
The market has been renamed the Hawthorn Makers Market and the organisers, Camberwell Rotary Club, are bringing the market back to the Hawthorn Arts Centre. Formerly known as the Hawthorn Town Hall, the Arts Centre was the market’s long-time home since 1979 until the Town Hall was redeveloped in 2012.
The Rotary Club of Camberwell was appointed to oversee the market by the City of Boroondara in 2015, and have been running the market in the Parkview Room in Camberwell, up until 2018.
The “re-imagined” Makers Market promises “artisan”, “unique” and “curated” products from local artists and crafters. All proceeds from product sales go to the stallholders, and any funds raised through management of the market go back into the
Rotary Club’s community events.
The market re-launches in the Emporium, Basement and eastern outdoor sections of the Arts Centre on Sunday 8 April 2018.
